A coating is a specification, not a colour
Industrial painting is governed by the data sheet rather than the colour card. The surface preparation, the primer, the number and thickness of coats, the time allowed between them and the temperature and humidity while they go on all come from the product specification, and meeting that specification is what you are paying for. A wall or a steel beam painted to look right but not to the sheet will fail early, and on an industrial unit failure usually means corrosion or contamination rather than a cosmetic problem.
Coastal Cornwall is a harsh environment for exposed steel and external cladding. Salt in the air drives corrosion faster than inland, which pushes preparation standards and coating choices harder than a unit in the Midlands would need. We take that into account rather than treating every site the same.
The kind of work we do
Interior walls, ceilings and block work in workshops, warehouses and light industrial units, where the priorities are durability, a wipeable finish and getting the space back into use. Roller shutter doors, steel doors, handrails and balustrades, mezzanine steelwork and external stair steel. Floor coatings on concrete where a sealed, cleanable surface is needed. External walls and outbuildings on farms, yards and trading estates.
Landlords, site managers and business owners on trading estates usually want the offices, canteens and welfare areas on the same site done at the same time, and those are covered under commercial decorating.
Working on a live site
Industrial premises rarely stop for the painter. The work is planned around production, deliveries and the site's own safety rules: areas cordoned and signed, fumes managed with the right products and ventilation, and phased so that a bay or a floor is out of use for as short a time as possible. Where a site needs an induction or paperwork before work starts, tell us at the quoting stage and we will say what we can provide.
Access equipment, working at height and the sequence of work are agreed with you in advance rather than improvised on the day.
